RP guide! How to make your, and everyone else's RP more enjoyable!

Well, I was planning on writing this long and drawn out RP guide.. but I figured I will make small chunks of info that are easier to digest. I'm going to start with some of the types of RP no-no's. You can read these and hopefully avoid these things or if they do exist, you may want to think about changing your character slightly. These are some of the rules that clash with basic RP etiquette:

God Mode (God Mod): This is where a character leaves no option for his RP partner. It can work in both Giving The Action, and Receiving The Action.
--Giving The Action: Lulany snatches the blaster from your holster before you realize what's going on.
--Receiving The Action: Lulany easily dodges the millions of blaster bolts being fired at her by the entire Imperial army.
Bleed(ing): This is where you as a player (not as a character) develop emotions beyond what is going on IC. This can pertain to both positive feelings and negative feelings.
--Positive: Bob's character has a relationship with Jane's character in game. The relationship is a very close one. Jane decides to throw in a little drama to liven up the RP by making her flirt with another character. Bob becomes upset at JANE (not at Jane's character) because he feels betrayed.
--Negative: Jack and Jorge's characters are having a disagreement about Bantha food. It appears that they are both getting pretty upset. Jack now dislikes JORGE (not Jorge's character) because he feels that Jorge is confrontational.

Meta Gaming: This is where a person takes OOC information and uses it IC, where they should have never knew in the first place.
--In The OOC Channel: Ugh, I can't find that stupid box in the cantina at Tatooine...
--In the IC Channel: Lulany senses through the force that she should head to the Cantina in Tatooine and search for a box.

Mary Sue: This is actually a pretty broad one.. and it is debatable that they are worst kind of RP'er. There are sub-categories of Mary Sue, so lets get into them.
--The Snowflake: So unique with crazy traits. Maybe is half-demon or angel? Possibly related to Han Solo as well. Bend the lore of the game and make my character have more than the game allows. Smuggler? Yes, but I am also trained as a Jedi Knight. You see, I went through the training but then I left or got kicked out.
--The Problem Solver: Say that your character has a flaw that you have fun RP'ing. Like, lets say that your character is poor. You find that walking up to advertise your service to fellow RP'ers is a good way to start RP. Well here comes "The Problem Solver" with his pocket of infinity. Whatever you need, he has it! Your character is hungry? He just so happen to be carrying an already cooked steak! Money problems? Here's a million credits! You're injured? Even though he RP's a grunt, suddenly he can take care of you!
--Attention Monster: Doesn't matter how serious the situation is... Did you guys see my pink hair?! Obviously I trump over anything that is going on. A heavy, engaging discussion going on? Who cares, I just got here, now everyone must acknowledge me or I will have a fit IC (and possibly OOC; see "Bleeding")
--Mr/Ms. Perfect: Never messes up. Everything I do is for a reason. Even when I portray my character getting injured it was because I was waiting for my powers to kick in.. or something corny like that.

Keep in mind that having a trait of one of these does not automatically make you a bad RP'er. You can still have an interesting character if played correctly with flaws. Though if you see a lot of these traits, you may want to revisit your character's bio!

next RP guide will be about character flaws!
Feel free to post in this thread with any questions, comments, additional information or just anything else pertaining to RP!
