New computer

Post by Laxjax on Mon May 06, 2013 11:44 am

So I'm pretty bad with computers, but I need to get a new one since the last one blew up. Any suggestions on a good, relatively cheap laptop?

How much are you looking to spend would be a good place to start.

...Yeah you're not going to find a gaming capable laptop for under 400. Your best bet would be a desktop, but even then it would be tight depending on what else you would need with it, monitor, keyboard/mouse, speakers. Not to mention the OS.

How much money would I have to spend if this is the only game I play?

Laptop or desktop? Laptops that are gaming capable are a bit higher in price.
Desktops that are gaming capable, depending on if you want a build it yourself, or from a company like Dell, is far cheaper. So we'll start there. Laptop or Desktop?

For one that won't cause you to smash your skull into a wall, probably min of 700 for a halfway decent one. There's some very very low end machines in the 400-500 price range, but they would probably lag alot.

Yikes. Okay thanks for the info. I guess I'll have to bump up the old price range

Let me know the new price range and I can find one that looks like it won't cause you to much frustration. If you don't mind the game looking particularly ugly the 700-800 range is what you'll be looking at. Unfortunately, I wouldn't justify going higher than that for this game, as it's coded kinda poorly and people with high end systems still experience lag.
