[File recovered from the Jedi Archives]

Name: Dak'tari Namara
Age: 26
Species: Cathar
Fur Color: Dark Blue/Black
Eye Color: Golden
Height: 1.8 meters
Weight: 79 kg
Homeworld: Cathar

Background: Dak'tari Namara grew up with his clan on his species' homeworld of Cathar.  At the age of ten, his village was assaulted by a clan of Mandalorians in retaliation for the Battle of Cathar centuries earlier during the Mandalorian Wars.  Although the Mandalorians won that battle and nearly exterminated the Cathar species, it was this massacre that caused the Jedi that would become Darth Revan to defy the Council and vow to destroy the Mandalorians.

Blaming the Cathar for this turn of events, these Mandalorian descendants conduct sporadic raids on Cathar, targeting clans that are vulnerable and located in villages far from urban areas.  Dak'tari's clan was targeted by this group and almost entirely wiped out.  Dak'tari was only able to survive due to the manifestation of his Force abilities, brought on by the desperation he faced as he huddled over his fatally wounded mother.

Sensing this exertion of power in the Force, a Jedi Knight by the name of Syo Bakarn who was on a diplomatic mission to meet with the Cathar Elders.  However, by the time Barkarn arrived, the Mandalorians had already departed.  Bakarn found Dak'tari still weeping over his mother and decided to take the young Cathar to Tython for training in the Force.

At the Jedi Temple, Dak'tari was distanced and reclusive at first.  His trainers soon found out that he had a complete aversion to violence, yet was highly dedicated and skilled in the healing arts.  When questioned about this, Dak'tari would often become distrought, replying that he was unable to save his mother.  Although concerned of his emotional response to the traumatic events he faced, his masters approved of his decision to focus on preserving life instead of avenging his loss.

Throughout his training, Dak'tari continued to resist the use of violence, only learning how to defend with a lightsaber and focusing on Force methods that incapacitated targets.  By the end of his trials, Dak'tari had already become adept at Jedi healing methods and continues to pursue the knowledge of these arts.

His aversion to killing, even in self-defense, made him concerned about his enlistment in Theta Company.  However, he reluctantly decided to join after realizing how much combat the unit was engaged in and their need for experienced healers.  He is currently assigned to Tempest Platoon in the medical section.

When talking to Dak'tari, it was clear that the Jedi has not completely processed what happened to his clan on Cathar.  While he was forthcoming on almost every topic, when this trauma was brought up or his homeworld was mentioned, he became very withdrawn.  His emotions were in check, but it appears that he was keeping them repressed instead of processing them.

My fear is that the repression of these emotions, not to mention the aggressiveness common in male Cathar, will reach a boiling point for Dak'tari and could lead to a breakdown.  His aptitude in the Force could make this meltdown disastrous.  While I admire his desire to overcome this trauma through non-violence and a focus on healing, I will attempt t work on finding a way for him to process these events and emotions to avoid potential fallout.  However, I would recommend keeping an eye on him during missions involving Mandalorians and avoid assigning him with any members of Theta Company who have Mandalorian ties.
